How to be a Better Storyteller

Update (10/204):  I created this slide share about storytelling.  It’s very popular, so I thought I would post it here too.

If you want to learn how to tell better stories and make better presentations, why not learn from the best!  From Hollywood storytellers –filmmakers.

Before you watch your movie you may want to listen to three quick (< 10 min each) episodes to help you learn even more about storytelling.  I know it’s seems corny–but really, if you listen to the episodes then watch a movie you really will learn more about storytelling. Promise!

Opening and Closings (this one is especially good if you rent Slumdog Millionare)

Everyday Storytelling

How to Communicate Better Using the Rule of Three  (Look for the rule of three–trust me you will see it in the movie you watch.)

So why not rent a movie this weekend – and don’t forget to comment below.  Tell us the name of movie and what you learned. This way we all can learn from one another! Need some suggestions?

Better yet, why don’t you get your organization to work with me and I’ll come explain in person how to be a better storyteller! <BIG CHEESY smile>

Hi Lisa, the link for “How to Communicate Better Using the Rule of Three” does not appear to work. I enjoyed the other two links, and would love to hear this third one.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what happened. So I edited again. Also, I added the link to the slide share that I created about storytelling. You can see that it’s a very popular slide share. I hope it helps. – Lisa
