The Truth About the PodCast Awards

A listener recently said to me, “Ah, I’m glad to hear that you are in it to win it!”  I’d never heard that phrase before, but it’s true.
I’m in it to win it. I’d love to win in the education category of the 2010 Podcast Awards.

But, I’m not going to be able to win without your help. Actually this year, I think I’m also going to need the help of all of our collective friends and family too!  (The competition is much tougher this year.)
To vote: Go to www.podcastawards.com / then choose The Public Speaker radio button in the education category / then fill in your name and email at the bottom / and if you’re feeling motivated fill in a comment about the show / then press submit. It just takes a few seconds to vote.
So what is the benefit to you? (and to your friends and family?)  Well, I’m willing to pony up some cool prizes if I win the category.  I plan to give away an apple iTouch along with some other great prizes. I’ll even send out daily reminders (along with a daily networking tip), but you’ll need to let me know you want them by signing up. (Winners will be chosen from the list –I’m going to trust that you really were voting every day!)
You already know that I’m passionate about helping people with communication.  You may not know that my goal for the podcast is to reach as many people as I can so that I can make a real, significant, and lasting impact in my worldwide community.  I want to go to my grave knowing I’ve helped people around the world achieve success through better, richer, communication.  If the podcast wins the category, the exposure increases significantly and I’ll be able to help more people.
However, I also want to go to my grave knowing that I was able to also help people financially as well.  In order to do that in any significant way, I’ll need to achieve the next level in my career.  That’s why I’m writing my new book [my new best-selling book <wink>] and why winning this award is important to me.  For me, winning, this podcast award represents my next small concrete step towards my goals of helping others in a much more significant way.

OK, so what’s the truth? I really want to WIN the Podcast Awards this year.

Will you help me achieve my goals? Vote everyday, and if you’re passionate about the value of communication toward achieving success (no matter how you define it) consider helping me spread the word.
And hey, maybe one of your friends or family members might win the iTouch–how cool would that be?
